There’s no other way to say it, Carl Sokia is a man on a mission. After stumbling into human resources at the beginning of his career, he quickly rose up through the ranks as he revolutionized the brands that were lucky enough to get to work with him. After helping build culture after corporate culture, he started to realize that most companies just get it wrong when it comes to human resources. Surprisingly enough, in their narrow worldviews, there was actually nothing human about their so called “human resources” approach.
That’s when he realized that human resources as a concept is dead, and there was a better way to do things. The next evolution was born: Human Experience. Carl has started emerging as a thought leader in building purposeful culture

PRINT® is a research driven, statistically validated, proprietary method for uncovering people’s core, hidden motivations, explaining the essential WHY behind behavior, not just what. PRINT® delineates with great accuracy, why people sometimes act in Best Self, making positive and productive choices and decisions while other times they may be less effective and make less constructive choices, allowing their Shadow side to break through. Showing up in Best Self or Shadow has a lot to do with how well a person’s core motivations are being satisfied by the world around them.
Automatic Shadow behavior is what PRINT® seeks to diminish among individuals and teams - behavior that is proven to undermine engagement, performance and results. PRINT® also offers great insight into the core motivations of others. Bringing out other’s Best Self, knowing how to avoid their hot buttons (called Triggers and these are also connected to core motivations), and tailoring messages that speak to the motivators of others are among the outcomes of PRINT®.
By understanding PRINT®, each person is accountable for managing their own behavior while also being responsible for how their behavior impacts others.
Carl is a licensed practitioner/coach in The Why of you Powered by PRINT®, a breakthrough model of human motivation and behavior that was developed by The Paul Hertz Group.
The approach is used to enhance understanding of the way people react and how they relate by explaining the “why” behind their behavior – why people act as they do, why they make certain choices, why they are attracted to certain things and why they function better in certain situations than others.
Everyone has core motivations that drive their actions and behaviors. PRINT® reveals what these motivators are and in doing so, clarifies what is needed to bring out people’s best. It helps unleash the potential that lies within all people. PRINT® is a valuable guide to create success and reveal what can be done to face and overcome one’s challenges. Carl is certified to use and analyze the Paul Hertz Group’s PRINT® Survey, a 10-15 minute, statistically validated, highly accurate, and dynamic online instrument as part of my coaching process (dynamic meaning that different questions come up based on how previous ones were answered, so people take different surveys). The instrument helps me uncover an individual’s core motivators and the behaviors that reflect both their Best Self and their potential Shadow. This information helps me work in partnership with individuals to efficiently accomplish goals and generate strategies to yield desired results.
